The semi-submersible drilling rig Deepsea Yantai, owned by CIMC Offshore Assets and operated by Odfjell Drilling, underwent its first five-year Special Periodic Survey (SPS) at Coast Center Base (CCB) in Bergen, Norway, following its successful North Sea campaign.

The rig commenced operations on October 30, 2019, with its inaugural drilling campaign in the Duva field on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. This milestone was achieved just eight months after completing preparation and upgrade works at CIMC Raffles Shipyard in Yantai, China - the city after which the rig was named. This achievement marked a significant milestone in the long-standing partnership between CIMC Offshore Assets and Odfjell Drilling.

Throughout their collaboration, CIMC Offshore Assets and Odfjell Drilling have fostered shared values that strengthened their partnership. The combined team's commitment to flexibility and innovation, coupled with their expertise and experience, has established Deepsea Yantai as one of the most sought-after rigs in its category.

For this SPS project, CIMC Offshore Assets' experienced management team joined forces with Odfjell Drilling, aiming to create additional value for their clients through enhanced synergy and collaboration.
